Principal's Message

 Welcome to the High School:

My name is Sarah Boyce and I am the Principal at Massena High School. Our mission is to educate, inspire and empower all of our students to fulfill their potential as learners and citizens. In order to do this, we look for creative ways to involve students in the learning process. For the 2018-19 school year, we added Freshman Seminar and The Morning Blend Cafe to our list of courses. In Freshman Seminar, ninth grade students will be engaged in activities that will enhance their reading, writing and study skills, promote collaboration and provided them with an awareness of the responsibilities they will undertake growing up in a digital world. The Morning Blend Cafe was created to provide business students a vehicle for learning the skills needed to run a small business. For students who visit the cafe, it is an alternative to a senior lounge. Students are able to enjoy beverages and light snacks, in an atmosphere with soft music. They are welcomed to socialize with friends, study or play board games.

We also have a parent resources page on the high school website. I invite you to view the links to information on vaping. Vaping has become a national concern because of the number of students who are engaging in this behavior. Tobacco companies are targeting adolescents and teenagers as the latest "replacement smokers" by sending them a message that vaping is harmless. The information in the links will dispel those notions and provide parents with some talking points. I have also included a link to understanding the Transition Global Regents which was first administered in June 2018.

To the right is the January 2019 Regents schedule. If you need to know that status of your child's regents requirements, please, contact his/her guidance counselor.
