We are looking forward to a great year. There are few things I want to draw you attention to.
We will be focusing our attention on attendance this year. It is important that your child be in attendance everyday, unless sick or has an appointment. Research shows that students who regularly attend school have better grades and feel more connected to the school environment. Being connected and involved in the school environment helps your child learn social and academic skills they will need in the future in the his/her career.
We have a new cellphone policy. This policy was developed over the 2018-19 school year. Extensive research and surveying was done during the process before making a decision to change the policy. A letter went out to parents at the March Parent Teacher Conferences, which explained the policy. Students were made aware of the specifics of the policy at the end of the school year and given time to ask questions.
